Remembering Sheikh Khalifa

Rest in peace, Sheikh Khalifa, UAE president and ruler of Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Khalifa continued his father’s breathtaking economic and structural transformation of the UAE, making it a place of wonder and the center of tourism and business in the Middle East. After he poured billions into debt-riddled Dubai in the late 2000s, a grateful Dubai renamed the world’s tallest building in his honor, changing it from Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa, here seen on the cover of the Arabic translation of my book SKYSCRAPERS.
